  • Wow! I spied Massive Change on the shelf behind former President Barack Obama during a Town Hall via Zoom—and, again, during PBS “Read Along,” with Michelle. (Summer 2020)

  • Finalist for a concept of a post-racial world that took inspiration from Parliament’s “Give Up The Funk,” Rapsody’s “Ibtihaj” (with D’Angelo and GZA), and Mos Def’s “Habitat.” (June 2020)

  • Featured designer—along with Emily Pilloton, John Bielenberg, Shepard Fairey, and Michael Osborne—in group exhibition by SoftSpot, which explored design as a way to create social change. (San Francisco, Mar 2009)

  • Honorable Mention in I.D.’s Annual Design Review issue for “Getting Personal with Global Warming”—a communication concept to raise environmental awareness through personal ad imagery and language. (Jul/Aug 2008)

  • 2nd Jury Prize in Hyperwerk’s Design Competition that asked “What does a Postindustrial Designer do?” I submitted a photo with the message “Consider the whole, not only the haves: A Postindustrial Designer works collaboratively, holistically, and with the local community in mind.” (Basel, Switzerland, Jun 2005)

  • Design Awards Inaugural issue (Jan/Feb 2005) for Massive Change: The Future of Global Design, written by me with Bruce Mau.

  • Awarded by The Graduate School of Journalism, UWO, to the student who produced the best piece of creative writing. (London, Ontario, June 1998)
